Hi everyone.

Great discussion board.

I am a recently certified OW diver. Live in northern IL

Hoping to dive as much as possible, including winter/cold water diving. My ultimate goal is to go cave diving as well as lots of lake/wreck diving.

Looking to build dive experience whenever possible.

Planning a trip to Mermet Springs,IL in the next month.

Doing AOW in January.

Anyone in the area going diving this winter and willing to take a newbie as a dive buddy, I am up for it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I second Lisa's suggestion about the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum. You'll probably find lots of people that will dive with you in that forum.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically from your profile, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or respond to in this forum.

Happy Diving!

Heya and welcome to the Board!!! Congrats on your recent certification ...wooohooo!!!
I think you'll be suprised how many divers never mind newbies tagging along, so never hesitate to ask. If your ever in my neck of the woods, you can count me in as a dive buddy!

No experience needed and it feels great!

WELCOME to ScubaBoard!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! on your new addiction too.
You've already been linked to your local "Wrecking Crew" so you should get some diving in soon, if you post in their forum and start glad handing a little. It won't take much; divers are addicts and need little excuse to get wet.
When you travel, check out forums from where you're going to go, make some contacts before you leave, take your gear, at least your card and be prepared to dive!
Glad you joined us.

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. At the bottom, be sure to notice the Local & Singles Dive Club fourms.

Be sure to check out our New2Scuba forum, too. I can certainly see that you're not going to be a warm water vacation diver, but it's still a good place to visit often - to search for answers on problems common to newbies, as well as share found answers.

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:
