[Apple Watch Ultra DC] is bad enough … I recommended the Garmin MK2 to a friend…

For someone who values smart watch functionality, and doesn't dive below 130’, there’s a pretty good chance that the Apple Watch is a better choice than the MK2.

I understood that apple is advertising 40m rating, but do not put water damage under warranty (which makes the rating pointless)

That’s incorrect. Apple advertises a 100m waterproof rating, and 40m/130‘ (recreational dive limit) for DC functionality. As for the warranty, there’s lots of lawyer language in the fine print, but its 100m certification (ISO 22810:2010 and EN13319) definitely imposes a responsibility on Apple.

I wouldn't be anywhere near 130ft with a "smart" watch. NDL is too short.

I like being alive. Different strokes for different folks.

If anyone turns up on a dive I'm on with apple or Huawei then I'm just an OW. The DM can babysit

Fortunately, there are many good information sources, on & off the web, that you can use to familiarize yourself with current DC technology.

It's not technology. We understand what is possible. No one does anything technical on an iWatch. Do I trust some script kiddie to write a code that I trust my life to? No. I don't.

I trust Shearwater. I don't trust Apple, and certainly nothing Chinese. Bring on the Ad Hominem attacks. I wouldn't trust Huawei with my email address.

I hear you, man. I always dive a J-valve.

I "like to stay alive" too. Anyone else, the divemaster can "babysit."

Found a review! You need to put subtitles and the diving technic is ... strange, but you can see the interface of the watch. It looks well made and polished as a.first impression

@Sheldon J Plankton : I understand if politically you're not willing to buy anything Chinese but I think calling them script kiddies is a bit exaggerated don't you think? Same goes for apple

Last week, I did some deep dives with Huawei Ultimate, worked pretty well. Even below 100 meters, the depth sensor and algorithm still functioned well.

Not showing the gasses nor ceiling. CCR or OC?
