I understand if politically you're not willing to buy anything Chinese but I think calling them script kiddies is a bit exaggerated don't you think? Same goes for apple

Clearly, he doesn't understand what "script kiddie" means.

I have been diving with the Huawei Ultimate Watch for some time. Happy to help anyone intereted to understand more about this smart watch.
The watch uses Bühlmann ZHL-16C algorithm, has technical diving mode(free of additionla charge) up to 100Meters, supports 10 gases. NO CCR mode, NO wierless transmission for tank pressure.
And of course, Ultimate is not just a diving computer so it has much more sport modes: Gulf, Swiming, Jogging, Climing, Hiking, Skiing, etc.

Personally, I have been diving with ultimate down to 60m using trimix. And my friend have been diving it to 100m. Experience is quit nice compare to SW terric.

hi! a year ago i damaged my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic while digging for clams at a beach with my 3year old daughter, and went out looking for a good smart watch that can actually provide real water protection.. and bumped into the Huawei Watch Ultimate.. liked what i saw and bought it. So far it's been great in swimming pool, snorkeling trips and digging for clams by the beach (sitting at the beach with waves hammering on my back while i dig for clams..)

Been decades since my last dive, and my old dive comp has long died on me and pretty happy to see a smart watch that i can use as my dive comp, without extra subscription.

i see on youtube, there is pretty good reviews on the watch while diving, some even comparing it side by side with other reputable dive comps from suunto etc..

I would like your honest opinion, how is the watch really like underwater? Did you bump into any issues? also, does the auto-start function really work? my old suunto D4 sometimes doesnt auto-start and i onlu noticed it only after i entered the water.. or will it be better to physically switch it on after rolling off the boat.

Also, what about the dive history? can i export out the dive log? does it keep a dive log?

i am planning a dive in september 2024.. and pretty low on budget.. so plan to reuse whatever i have instead of buying new equipment which i probably wont use again until years later..

I wouldn't be anywhere near 130ft with a "smart" watch. NDL is too short.

I like being alive. Different strokes for different folks.

If anyone turns up on a dive I'm on with apple or Huawei then I'm just an OW. The DM can babysit
to me, a dive comp is just a reference point. i wont totally rely on it and will always refer to the old school depth gauge by my waist.
