I found this deal online while looking for a new reg for myself and my wife and I just have to tell someone else. $299.99 for a Dive Rite Jetstream regulator is insane. You have to buy 2 to get the price, sounds like a hell of a reason to upgrade to me.

Crazy John Specials

I will post back with a review. Ask for Paul the guy is the bomb and they got all my future money.

...on paper I agree that's certainly a bargain price...my area of concern would be the following though.....that DR reg is really a Poseidon, and Poseidon's are famous for being a bit tricky to find someone to service/tune them properly......so the odds are low your average DR dealer is also a decent Poseidon repair tech too.....if I weren't already well endowed with regs as is, and I were reg shopping, this would be the thing that might keep me from jumping on this deal.

Karl

P.S., I already own a number of Poseidon Jetstreams (which is the exact same 2nd stage as the DR reg on sale) so I already know about the 'issues' obtaining proper serving on these units. They're fine regs, performance wise, the tricky bit has been finding/keeping good service techs for them.

Good deal, yes. But, just wait until you find out what it costs for parts and service.

Thanks for the heads up. I already budget around 100.00 - 150.00 a year for service on my current regs. Would this be about would I can expect to pay to maintain the Poseidons?

Im not sure but i think its about $90 per reg... I thought I saw someone in Virginia servicing them for that price.

i shop at this shop all the time. john is a great guy who is always willing to help out. you think this is a crazy special, he has so many great deals when you go to his shop. it is mostly tech oriented so he only stocks top quality. the amount of dealers he has is amazing. i know there are other dive shops but this is the best one i have ever been to in my life. i have spent well over $3,000 dollars there and would not shop anywhere else. you can trust this deal
