As good as your pics are, maybe time for a SLR? Id get one but I can't use the 5060 I have now so why get more?

But I did get a DSLR, but I can't afford to house it right now (and don't really know if I want to afford it!)

A month or so ago I went on the west side with it to take some top side pictures and one of the old locals came up to me and said "lady, I wouldn't walk around this side of the island with a camera like that..."

Aint Hawaii great?

I just heard from one of the boat captains that he started a new club. Local people only, 40 dollars., includes tanks and weights. He has a very nice boat and is located at the end of Sand Island access road.

Have you heard whether there are annual dues?

Only thing I don't care for out on Sand Island is the lack of parking. I've only been a couple times, though - and I'm not sure if I was at the end of Sand Island Access Road or not.

Car pooling??

BTW... Sea Lancers (oldest military and second oldest continuous dive club in the world) is having a club dive tomorrow morning (1/29) out of Hickam Harbor at 0730am. $5 a boat dive. Check it out at www.sealancers.org for membership information or pm me.

Lots of parking because he picks you up at the stae boat ramp, just over the bridge. There is a huge lot at educational center. no annual dues.

Hmmm . . . I may have to give him a try, then. Is he going to post on his website the dates of club dives - or are the "club" seats anything available on his regular charters?

Of course, I am a bit wary of experiencing the "Alex treatment". I suppose I'd finally have a point of reference in which to agree or dispute all the stories I've heard, though.

Cheryl,

Sign me up if you decide to dive with him.

I've got a friend coming in from the mainland for the weekend of 3/03 and I'd love to find someone to go out with at club prices. We have to dive on Saturday, though, because he is flying to Maui on Sunday. I wonder if that will count as a "local". I guess I could call and ask. I'm not sure if Breeze allows club member guests either.

Catherine,

You are so funny! Your new avatar. Have you had any comments yet? So funny.
