BladesRobinson:
I am also surprised to see no one has mentioned and AGA mask for a second stage since that is the "industry standard."

Just my two cents.

Safe diving,

Blades Robinson
I was waiting to find out more about his training and location. I don't know what he means by having most of the entry level training.

Go with the AGA its worth the money! and if you can t get one one those, my vote is for the Sherwood maximus, that is what our team dives and I love it. I think I could drag it down the road, stomp on it, and dip it in acid and it would still breath like a champ! but thats just my 2 pesos

In answer to your Question, Gary...

Through the school I go to I've been able to receive my training as a Special Response Diver (SRD) from the NAPD (National Academy of Police Diving @ http://www.policediver.com/) under the instruction of Michael Gast. SRD covers the basics of underwater SAR, (whether it be body recovery, or an evidence search,) as well as the basic elements and 'how to' of uw investigation(cs photography, documentation, reports, etc.). Does that help explain a few things?

Good start and be safe.

Some people think when they take a whole bunch of PADI, or other, courses they are PSD's. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your off on the right foot, keep going.
