Rev. Blade:
Is there part of the year when diving is better around the pump house? I suppose it's a no-brainer to guess when it's better out of the water, but how about in the water. Does the river get below 50 degrees? Are the mud bugs plentiful year around?
The water is going to be ripping down there now; Discovery Park is half underwater again.
Mudbugz will hole up in the cooler months; don't bother looking 'till whe water gets above 65 or so.
Not sure what the water temps are right now, probably above 50 though.
Expect zero viz now too.

with an OW class. Temps were around 48 and viz was actually around 3-5' at 25' but around 10' the viz opened up and was quite nice... until the students got in the water and then all you saw was silt!

Actually, they did great for the conditions. I would have hated to be certified in that low viz cold water.

I'm always up for diving Lake Natomas. I live about 15 minutes away and as the weather starts warming up a bit, I'll be needing a buddy.

Is this a new reply. This one has been going for a while so I'm not sure. Me and my brother dive up there every now and then and as always welcome anyone to join us. This weekend we're going up to Gerstle cove if the weather holds. Its funny but I know a Ron who is a PADI DM through the SPortscove in Vacaville. Is that you? Either way, PM me and well swap numbers for future dives. Thanks
