I have recently been looking for shipwrecks around the tawas point area of Northern Michigan. Someone who used to dive this area in the early 2000s told me of an old schooner that sank out by bouy 2 a half mile or so out past the tip of the point, the boat was called the “goshawk.” Has anyone else heard of or dove this wreck?

Don’t know if any charters go to the wreck. I don’t believe any of the Alpena-area ones do. Here’s the relevant pages from The Great Lakes Diving Guide.
