Im just getting into tech diving. i want to buy the owl nine yard.
1st : Im a divemaster at a shop and i have 25% off, but even with the discount it still cheaper buying online! would you recommend it?

2nd: i have a mk17 with a G250V 2nd stage (yoke) i love the set up it's great for cold water diving. so i was thinking buying another mk17 din and get a din conversion kit for the one i already have. but i was looking online and it would be almost cheaper to get 2 dive rite 3100 regs 1st and secound stage ( around 575$ for both , 2-1st stage, 2-2nd stage, with 84in and 22in hose )

im leaning towards buying 2 diverite and keep my mk17 for pool sessions or stage bottles... one reason is the swiveling turret on the diverite wich the mk17 is lacking, i dont know if it makes a big difference but from my cave diving training i remember it being a sweet option.
i've heard nothing but great things about diverite, easy maintenance, great customer service!

im going to use em for wreck diving and cave diving!

please help me out on this, coz im buying soon!

forgot to say that i could get a mk17 (yoke) at the shop for 585$ plus tax
or online at 400$ for a din mk17 G250V

so i'll have to spend another 50 to 100$ to get 1 or 2 din conversion kit + installation

Well, if you are getting into technical diving, realize that a second regulator for doubles is only the beginning. You will need one or more deco regs, and argon regs, and if you dive singles sometimes you'll want a singles setup (because swapping hoses around becomes a pain). At some point, the cost of getting all this stuff serviced starts to get painful. This is why we are converting our entire stable of regulators over to HOG. The regs are well priced, breathe extremely well, have innards virtually identical to the Apeks regs that a lot of tech divers have liked for a long time. And best of all, the owner of the company has decided that he will freely offer service kits and classes on servicing to technical divers who buy his gear.

If you keep your regulators a long time, skip the dive rite, three years from now, parts won't be available from DR for the regulator.

As others have said you'll need 4 reg sets and an additional 1st stage for argon.
....and another set for singles.

I have swapped my Apeks regs for HOG's....great price and almost the same reg.
I like the end port for "scubapro piston style" hose routing.

You mentioned that you are a Divemaster for a store. Be careful with who you purchase your equipment from it may ruin your relationship with the store you work for.
A lot fo Dive stores frown on their Instructors/ Divemasters using equipment that they don't sell or service. An honest conversation with your sponsoring store may clear things up.

Just my 2 cents,
Jim

thx for ur 2 cents! im actually trying to work a deal with the shop, showing em how much cheaper it is online even with the discount they give me.... i think i might get what i want for cost :D ( told them i'll do my instructor course if i get the deal!)

interesting, I will check on the HOG's as well, bout to build my set up for doubles
