moving to Dallas summer '02
Hi. I just joined a couple of weeks ago! Already getting great info.! Thanks! I live in North Carolina, but will soon be moving to Dallas. Any other Dallas-area divers out there?

I used to be a PADI scuba instructor, but now I just dive because I love it!

Just back from 8 days in Bonaire--22 awesome shore dives!

Planning wreck diving off of Wilmington, NC in mid-May.

Also going to Belize and Cocos Island in June. And, finally, a trip to Grand Cayman in July.

I'd love to share info. on Bonaire if anyone's going soon!

I'd love to hear about Belize/Cocos diving too!

Cheers!

Take your own tree. And a hill.
Rick

We have hills. It isn't as flat as South Texas, but I miss the trees.

I grew up in Houston, and we to school in East Texas.

I miss the trees.

Let us know when you get here Tater and we'll go diving.

First, put down the quintuple espresso and back slowly away from the exclaimation point....

Then head down to Atlanta and drive around on 285. Keep driving until you're indistinguishable from the natives.

Then you're ready for the back streets of Dallas....

Let's not talk about the freeways yet. No sense scaring you more at this point.....

And then there's Houston.....<shudder>

Where are they hiding all the vegetation out there?

I told my realtor I didn't care how tiny the house or condo, I had to have trees!

I am currently stuck in St. Louis and a friend who moved here at the same time, he and his wife are from west Texas, had a problem with the trees. His wife was serious about there being too many trees in his yard. Go figure. It's been almost 4 years and we still laugh about that conversation.

Texas has everything - and lots of room between it.
Welcome

I guess you could try going to the Davey Crockett National Forest if you need to see trees. Plenty there. I've been to Dallas twice and there are some gentle rolling hills, and there was a forest around Lake Hubbard. I live on the coast so it's very flat and the vegetation is intermittent between salt grass prairies and swamp like tree growth. Also, there's a lot of Pecans and Oaks in some places.

Have fun, maybe someday we'll dive the Flower Gardens or something.

welcome to the board:jester:
