Walt is da MAN

Just because everyone is posting a link doesn't mean they are e-busineess it means they have a website for the LDS.

For occasional air fills (that have been lousy when I have used them) I will use http://www.fifthd.com in issaquah because it is close.

My Favorites are:

Sand Dollar Dive Center
Smiths, AL - true LDS, but new and small

Divers Supply
Macon, GA - In Store
http:\\www.divers-supply.com

Adventure Sports
Auburn, AL

Adventure Sports II
Montgomery, AL
http:\\www.adventuresports2.com

RickMurchison... When are y'all going to convince the Auburn store to come online? or be open on Saturday?

So one is here, but small. One 80 miles east. One 80 miles west. and one is 27 miles away, but not open on the weekends. Am I torn or what...?

My vote is for my locale dive shop here in Little Rock, Arkansas. The web and postal address is:

Rick's Dive and Travel
2323 Poplar Street
North Little Rock, AR 72114
501.753.6004

Web Site: http://www.ricksdivecenter.com

Although Rick has been diving for many years all over the world. He is very involved in getting new divers acquainted with the diving experience. The dive center has a large heated pool that I use during the winter to practice skills.

What, I have to be the first one to say it....?

www.eBay.com

Best dive deals on the planet, best thing to happen to the internet. Changed my life. I sell stuff to buy dive gear. There is no better place on he web for me. about 90% of my gear came from eBay - regs, fins, hoses, BP/ Wing, harness, lights, bags, etc. Don't be a fool and dive to your death. Have every life support piece of equipment you buy checked by a qualified technician.

Others include:

http://dive-ssa.com/

SSA - I drive about 70 miles round trip to get fills from these guys and sometimes just hang out. Dan (who runs the place) Brian and the entire crew are great. I love these guys, I dive with these guys, I trust these guys. They're my number one shop. 2 stores - one is just too far (about 60 plus) but that's the one I did all my AOW through. Shoot me now.

http://seastallion.com/

SeaStallion - after the DUI Demo days in San Diego, these guys called and followed up. They're a good 60 or 70 miles (one way) from my home. I ended up buying my wife's 350 from them, as well as our drysuit courses. FOLLOW UP PAYS. Too far for an ongoing relationship, but they get it. Quality people, quality store.

http://reefscuba.com

Reef Scuba - all of my hardware and nick nacks (bungee, webbing, bolt snaps, etc.) come from these people. They ship UPS 3rd day, which always gets to me in 2 days! They always toss in a little extra something in their packs ("Lagniappe", right FredT?? :) )

Honorable Mentions

http://oceanadventuresdiveco.com

Ocean Adventures - Steve is the bomb. These guys are local (3 miles from my place) and probably my fave "local" shop. They get my emergency purchases, the occasional trip and that's it. As I do 99% on line, I don't have much for them...but they're quality people.

http://www.lloydbaileysscuba.com

Lloyd Bailey - had the ACB in stock when I called. Arthur took my order. Lloyd himself called me back to be sure I got it in time for the dive, etc...what a sweetheart. Free freight on Halcyon.

In the Lakes Region of New Hampshire:

http://www.divewinnipesaukee.com

They run Lake charters -- with the boat parked at the dock right out back. (although they need to update the site with some content!)

On the other side of the big lake:

http://www.fathomdivers.com

In Fort Lauderdale:

http://www.scuba-school.com -- arguably the friendliest and most help & enthusiastic staff I've ever encountered.

Philadelphia region:

http://www.diveunderwaterworld.com -- well-stocked, knowledgeable staff, lots of classes, cool fish.

http://www.midatlanticscubacenter.com -- smaller, quite friendly & helpful (looks like they're moving to new digs!)

And one I've passed a few times, and have heard great things about (Norristown area):
