Was there something wrong with the rings? It sounds like the shop went above and beyond. Why not post the name and give them a plug. We hear about the "bad" shops far too often.
 
There was something wrong with the gloves, yes. The mold had left a sharp burr along the edges of the rings used to fasten the ring to the wrist seal. The new seals, being thicker than the seals on the old suit, were much more susceptible to cutting with the edge.

The shop is Frank White's and Howie fixed up the suit. He deburred the rings, fixed up the wrist seals, and installed the gloves.
