I am planning on getting my advanced open water, hopefully in June before I do this dive.

I've also experience some current on the Mac. That's when diving it is fun. You can easily swim against the current one way, then drift back. You definitely want to be comfortable in our balmy waters. Pearl Lake and Haigh Quarry are great places to log some bottom time for practice. Also, Great Lake's wave conditions are not like the ocean. They are much more rougher and choppier. Take the Dram!!!
