thanks, well im only going up there for college, so i will be home for breaks and i still plan on diving with you guys this summer! but i promise that every break im home, ill be diving with you guys! i really wish i could make the oil rigs but i just got on a boat out to san nicholas, hope to see you all soon!
 
Go Bears! That's exciting, I went to Berkeley-- it's a great school! I found some really excellent professors and made some good friends. I love the bay area; you'll have a great time! The housing is tough, but you'll figure it out. Although it was the birthplace of the free speech movement in the 60s it's really not got much of a hippie presence in this day and age. Just a great school in a beautiful part of California.... A buddy of mine is a member of Salt Water Revival-- they do a few boat dives out of Santa Barbara during lobster season-- you might want to check them out... Congratulations on getting in to Cal!
 
My friend, who got me into diving, lives up in Livermore and he belongs to a club up in that area. They frequently dive the Monterey area (which is still a drive). The club is calidivers
They are doing a 2 or 3 day live aboard on the peace boat in August. It might be a good way to meet them before you head up to Berkeley.
