I am looking for the name of a TV movie from the 70’s that documented the submersible accident where Ed Link’s son died. I believe the submersible was called “Deep Diver”

Try a search on the Internet Movie Database, http://us.imdb.com/.

I was at the movies last week and saw a preview of "The Cave" ... it has some stunning underwater shots of cave diving with rebreathers that are interesting. Of course, you know where the plot is headed....team finds unexpected large cave that goes deep into the earth. Team decides to explore it. Team meets unknown large, aggressive, earth creature. Team gets crunched, munched, and mangled. Sort of like Alien, except in a cave instead of space.

Pretty good summary of the plot of The Cave.....but there is a little twist. Will be worth seeing for the u/w cave shots anyway.

I don't think anyone has mentioned "Ffolks" (sp?) with Roger Moore. Kind of fun if you can find it.

Speed 2 was on TV tonigh. In one scene, the lead character "dives" off of a cruise ship in order to stop the propellor. The ship is travelling at 17 knots yet amazingly the diver is unaffected by the relative current. He eventually swims within a few feet of the propellor and dangles a rope into it in order to break it (the propellor, not the rope). What really strikes me as odd is earlier in the movie somebody mentions anybody in the water would be sucked into the propellor. This must be an old wives tale because the protagonist was diving next to a large (but not as large as it should be for a cruise ship) propellor and was not affected at all.

Ahh... what a laughably bad movie.

I always find it funny how we're willing to watch absolute junk just to see a glimpse of our passion on the screen. For me the same holds true for my other passion, motorcycling...I've sat through some NASTY movies just to see the bikes.

thanks guys, i have quite a list of movies to watch.
