Master Diver means absolute crap as far as overhead diving is concerned. I don't particularly think it means crap in OW either, but that has nothing to do with this thread(I know you sell that stuff, but I'm not getting paid to advertise - so I'll speak my mind). He lied to me, so I'll flame him, I'm perfectly OK with that :P

Ok, it wasnt clear that you meant cave diving. Nor was I advertising, but rather trying to put a bit of fact into the discussion. And Im not ok with you flaming some random guy. You can be a bit more civil.

He wasn't some random guy, he was the random guy who LIED to me. You don't have to be OK with what I do, but you certainly have to deal with it ;) I could be more civil, but it isn't a necessity - especially in the face of dishonesty.

I think the context of what I meant was pretty obvious as I had asked the dude if he was cavern certified(not cave) - which a Master Diver card has no bearing on.

As for the facts you bring to the discussion, we understand you plan to be there at 9:30 on Saturday. Everything else I've seen is opinion - same as mine.

Bugman you have probably the most abrasive internet personality I have come across. Have you considered getting your point across without being offensive?

Like nearly all cave divers out there, we don't want non-cave trained divers in the caves. Why? Because when divers die in caves, the land owners tend to not want divers in their caves anymore. I personally don't care if someone wants to be stupid despite knowing better, but when it threatens access to the the caves I love, that's where I get pretty damn angry.

If someone lied to me about their certification, like the anonymous diver did to SuPrBuGmAn, I'd be pissed as hell, too. There's no point in being excessively diplomatic when it comes to keeping our cave access open, and keeping OW divers from dying in our caves. I don't see where he was out of line, personally. I don't give a load of horse poo if someone is "super-awesome-elite-master-diver"...if they don't have cav/ern certification, they aren't going to follow me into a cav/ern, either.

Sorry to interrupt your debate, but id love to know more about this dive site from the one pic it looks absolutely awesome, I unfortunately live far from the coast and have to make use of inland dive spots, but in SA most of them are old open cast mines with pathetic viz and no plant life, where is Morrison and what sort of diving do you do there?

It's a freshwater spring in Florida...it's an inland dive site.

Basically, it's an underground cave that discharges fresh water into a shallow depression. The depression, called a "basin" has an average depth of 20 feet, but down by the cave opening, I think it's closer to 50. The cave itself was dynamited in the 70's, by the county sheriff, because he felt like it was too dangerous to dive there. It's still a nice cavern, though, but I think it stops at 90 feet. I've never been in there, I've just been to the basin part.

When it's not messed up by environmental conditions or poor buoyancy control of divers, the water is absolutely beautiful...near perfect visibility.

I think the springs in those areas tend to have a consistent water temp of around 68 degrees F
