It's a freshwater spring in Florida...it's an inland dive site.

Basically, it's an underground cave that discharges fresh water into a shallow depression. The depression, called a "basin" has an average depth of 20 feet, but down by the cave opening, I think it's closer to 50. The cave itself was dynamited in the 70's, by the county sheriff, because he felt like it was too dangerous to dive there. It's still a nice cavern, though, but I think it stops at 90 feet. I've never been in there, I've just been to the basin part.

When it's not messed up by environmental conditions or poor buoyancy control of divers, the water is absolutely beautiful...near perfect visibility.

Thanx, very interesting. Sounds like a good place to go to on a Friday afternoon when everyone else is at work, ive done that more than once at our local mine quarry.

Id love to see some pics if anyone has, Yes i know I can google it but its nuch more interesting from personal experiences

...and I'm not the Scuba Police I would have gladly taken the dude on a little tour, instead he paired off with bubba and they went on in the cavern. Their trim was awefull and they did a fine job of kicking detrious in our faces on the exit. I guess I should be happy about that?

One of my favorite shots I've taken UW, which is funny, since it was also one of the first photos I took UW... OW goodness. Probably my 2nd or 3rd dive at Morrison.
