Nothing wrong with having both for the reasons both you and jar546 stated. When I finally add the wireless transmitter for my D6i, I plan on keeping my SPG to confirm my D6i readings. Best of both worlds.I seen diver rip their spg off getting off the boat and I've seen other diver drop their rig on some ones spg and the electronic one was the only one working.
