I'd guess that most experienced warm water divers (cold water is a wholly different story) have had it happen and snuck behind a coral head for the infamous "warhammer maneuver" (where does that term come from?).

As I recall, it's because the discussion/pic was first posted by a user with the name Warhammer

The original thread has been "un blocked" by pete and is in the PUB now.

He's even said that posting the pic in the pub is ok now also. However the host site that had the pic in the original thread (2001 I think) no longer has the image on it's site.

"Warhammer has not made any friends yet "

:dontknow:

....."do not google the warhammer maneuver unless you're ready for gross."

And do not do it with anything in your mouth......keyboard!!!

Hehe, I remember when I had to ask what the Warhammer Maneuver was :D

Here's a more civilized way. My friend does this a lot. I think he'd rather go underwater than in a bathroom. That's his backplate webbing below his butt....not what it looks like.

Gross, but illustrative: photo of Warhammer Maneuver.

Defintely not a picture I should have looked at while eating yogurt...

On a side note, does anyone know how the term "warhammer" originated...I mean, I know what an actual warhammer looks like and it doesn't exactly remind me of an underwater deficating man (unless the t*rd was like 30 feet long, then I guess it would sort of resemble a handle, and the diver would be the head).
