Here's my personal set-up.....I don't think it can be improved.
Zeagle flathead 1st stage
Metal Kirby-Morgan Superflow primary
Apeks XTX 50 back-up

Scubapro MK25 & S600 on my rec gear
Apex XTX on my tec rig,
bought both when money wasnt an object, both are excellent regs, love them both,
but in a horserace I would have to give it to the MK25, smoother breathing

It's interesting that so many people pick the reg they already own.

(I didn't, FWIW).

If money truly was no object, I'd have a closet full of top regs so I could do a 'proper' test.

Atomic T2x, get rid of swivel for seven foot miflex hose. (Nothing wrong with the swivel and regular hose if you are recreational diving btw)

I don't do fresh or cold water diving so that wouldn't play into it...I would probably do the AL legend...How expensive is 'the most expensive'? $1500? I could probably buy several really great regs off of ebay for that.

Many tech divers have started using the swivel.

I'm really liking the Poseidon, Zeagle and Atomic regs right now myself. :)

I might be tempted to buy the Atomic ST1 for the corrosion. I would skip the Tx2 cause the weight does not matter to me but I use deco mixes up to 100%. But in the mean time my Z2s and M1s work just fine.
