A friend of mine lost her mask in about 2 feet of water coming out of a beach dive and doing her best MOF inpersonation....I was on the beach watching and it was like slow motion and I knew what was going to happen. The wave hit her from behind, took the mask clean off and I spent about 30 min snorkeling for it....we never found it..

Thanks Buddy for sharing my first open water experience with everyone. :D

:sleeping_ :sleeping_ :sleeping_ :sleeping_ :sleeping_ :toilet Who Freakin cares. This subject has been beaten enough. If you want to wear a freakin mask on your forehead then wear it. If you don't then don't. I can't believe this subject still gets replies....
:1poke: .......

LMAO...I didn't figure you'd show up around here....:11:

I just finished up the classroom work and exam for the PADI Rescue Diver course. Yep, MOF is listed on p. 51. There is even a picture of a panicked MOF on that page. Of all the things about the diver in the pic, MOF is the least obvious sign that this dude is panicking. The flailing, kicking and splashing are easier to spot...

It also mentioned that there are many other signs of panic that go with MOF...

I am NMOF just because I do not want to lose my mask. I also have the strap under my hood when I wear a hood, so I do not lose my mask.

If you want to "rescue" MOFs just to show you are right, you will have some very long days at dive sites!

Your getting my next air fills. Then your forgiven.

Okay...I think I can handle that! But I must tell you...I did leave your name out of my story...You kinda gave yourself up when you posted...:D

Either way..I'll hook ya up with some fills the next time out...;)

The next time I'm in a panicked situation...I'll hold off on the arm waving, gulping water, pulling on my buddy's gear, and intermitantly submerging my head underwater. I'll just casually slide my mask up on to my forehead and stare at the boat...see how long it takes the DM to jump in and save my life...:D ;)

Did you notice the article on cartilegenous fish... apparently rays can stick barbs in you very quickly and accurately if they feel threatened! :(
