I second Glycerin's remarks and add a specific complement on the food. Having a hot nutritious soup dish after the first dive is a special touch.

I've dived in rain before in tropical conditions but this was my first experience on a SoCal dive boat with it coming down hard and cold. It was better in the water than on the stern for a while - but then being in the water is what its about. Peace makes the rest of the time good time.

It cleared on the trip back and we got to watch the dolphins riding the bow wake.

Too cool.

You all know I love the Peace, so it was good to be on one of my fav boats with lots of good friends. It was Jaye's first time on the Peace. She was digging it too.

And because of the weather, most everyone was jammed into the galley - so there was considerably more on-water socializing on this trip than there usually is. She loved meeting a bunch of new friends. It was good to finally speak with some of you I've met several times, but we're usually in different circles.

Thanks for the tour of pics, Jen and Scott.

Here are some of mine from the trip. Nothing really to shoot with the W/A, so I was shooting Macro all day with the 105.

I ended up with 5 dives - as on dive 1 at minute 35 my inflator hose started significantly leaking at my first stage. After several tries to seek an in-water fix, Jake and I just thumbed it and let the current take us back to the boat. Steve and I fixed it toot-sweet while Jaye held onto the anchor line. Like a NASCAR pit stop, I re-entered the water (after about 12 - 15 minutes out with the kicks and fix) and we made another 47 minute dive!

Dive 2(3) with Jaye. No drama this one. Nice dive. Found a huge Horn Shark egg case that I put out for some others to see.... guess nobody else found it. Turned a corner and then found a FOUR FOOT (OK Deb... maybe 3') Horn Shark.

Dive 3(4) I joined up with Josh and 'Dette as Jaye was chillin' in the galley. Mellow dive. As the Nudi count increased with every foot we moved East, I turned to 'dette to blow off the turn pressure another 500# so we could press on another few minutes, hoping we'd see something extraordinary. A moment later she found that beautiful Janolus in the shots below. BTW - Sorry about the pounce at the safety stop, Jen... but it was a cool little Mola!

On dive 4(5) I did a shorty with Claudette just as the boat was preparing to leave. We went West instead of east this time. Some octos, more nudis (Fed Ex and Hermissenda) and FINALLY a Gilly Suit Crab that I could shoot. Jaye spotted a couple throughout the day, but they are so skittish I couldn't shoot one. Dette solved the issue with this teeny tiny one... just grab the whole rock and bring it over to me. That's her thumb on the right.

Here are some pics. Enjoy.

Beautiful Janolis. Just over an inch long. Cool Full size here.

On Dive two, right after Jaye found the big (4') Horn Shark, I stumbled on King Ling. I couldn't get even his head in the frame... so I creeped up close and got his eye. Full size is right here, and worth a look.

WOW!! LOOK AT ALL THE LOBSTERS!!! Are they in season or too small or did you have to pass them up?

There were all in a preserve. HUGE ginormous things too... heart breaking, really... :(

Awesome pics Mo2!!!

Wow....

That's one helluva rig you got there, Ken. Very impressive Macro results.

I got a shot of you taking pics of the Ling... didn't come out super well, but it's darn impressive to see how far away you were compared to how close the shots were!

That horn shark was 4' easy. No joke. See the video footage I shot for a glimpse of it's size: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A5Rp-9rIpo

Guess that answers that question.

HE could not have laid that large Horn Shark egg case I found before Jaye found HIM. :no

Great shots Mo2vation! You inspire me. I can't wait to start taking photos of my own!

CompuDude: Thanks for the horn shark video. I saw him out there too, and now I've been able to share the moment with my family. This was my first sea lion encounter as a diver, Do have any video of that? I would love to share it with my family as well.

Great pics Ken...as always!

Well...I'm going to just come out and say it because I was a little irked today after realizing something....

The pics I took from Friday nights dinner are history, deleted, no longer in existance...:11:

Long story short, they got deleted with all of the underwater shots I took. I must have been half asleep Saturday night when I got home and went through them; didn't realize what I had done until today....

Sorry all...:( I'll make up for it next time...:14:

Steve: Sorry about the deleted pics, but now I'm relieved that there is no evidence. Not that anything happened or anything...:cwmddd:

Ken: I swear you swim in a different sea than the rest of us .

Sadly, I missed the sea lion frolic session. Maybe next time...
