Hello,

I am new to this site, just found it today. I just rec'd my open water certification and ready to get out a log some dives. I live in Minneapolis and have a cabin in Northern Wisconsin (Minocqua area). I am interested in hearing about favorite sites in Minnesota and N. WI. What are the best inland lakes for diving? Also, what is the best way to hook up with a dive buddy?

Looking forward to hearing some of your expert thoughts.

Thanks!

MNDiverDan

I have lots of friends in MN and WI, so I'll give you the advice I give them:

Come to South Florida and shore dive with the Florida Conchs!

(Seriously, congratulations. I wish I knew more about diving there, but the only site that comes to mind right now is the thing at Mall of America. Hmmmm, maybe that can be a new PADI specialty - Mall Diver)

Welcome to the board!

Hi MNDiverDan.

Welcome to Scubaboard. Given your location a good place to start looking for dive sites and buddies would be the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum in the clubs section.

Thanks for the info. I will be checking out those sites!
