We first began futzing with nitrox in the mid-1980s, with cobbled together tables -- about 32 to 36% mixes -- and did absolutely nothing, whatsoever, to our regulators, in terms of swapping out nitrile for viton o-rings.I’ve been told by experts on this site that O2 cleaning is not necessary for Nitrox mixes contain 32% and 36% oxygen.

Thanks Rob, I think you were the expert I was referring to. LolCorrect. The assumption is that the regs were delivered Nitrox-ready when purchased and have not been silicone-lubed since, nor had gross hydrocarbon contamination.
What "cleaning for Nitrox" means, and the safety of garden-variety nitrile o-rings in Nitrox, is debated.
