I prefer a Cray supercomputer with terrabytes of RAM, but then they haven't ported my editing software to that system yet.

Although I don't edit GoPro footage, much of what I do edit is comparable. I use either my desktop operating under Win XP with 4 GB RAM and a quad core 3.2 GHz processor or my laptop with (ugh) Win 8, 8 GB RAM and an i7 processor.
