If you need to save weight that bad, just remove all the hoses and duct tape them to your body :) Or go for the Air2.

Flexibility makes sense with the primary hose if myou find yours uncomfortable.

So how much will you spend to drop a pound on your hoses???? Maybe I'll have to put a set on my Mk7!!

We'll know for sure when people start buying $1200 titanium regs to go with their new lightweight Miflex hoses!

Speaking of flexibility... how do these things do with a bolt snap cave knotted to them? I crank my knots down TIGHT. Would that collapse the hose?

You might not need to crank down the knots that hard on these hoses. The need to crank down is due to the fact that rubber hoses don't compress much, so you need to crank down hard to keep knot from sliding around. If the Miflex hoses will compress a tiny bit, that would keep the knot from sliding around.

Downside will be whether a standard "cave rigging" doesn't hold well if it's NOT cranked tight. Think about if you don't crank the knot on a backup light or something - it ends up working loose or abrading itself and breaking.

I'm waiting for someone to come onto this thread and proclaim that these hoses are:

1. A possible failure point.
2. A solution looking for a problem.
3. Replacing skill with technology/gadgetry.

Any takers? :D

1. You spend way too much time in the DIR section.
2. Stop cheating and go back and read post 13, then refer back to answer 1.
3. You spend way too much time in the Sea Hunt section.
:D

Now for my complaint.....cost too much, need a way to make hoses from hardware store items......hmmm, I'm spending way too much time in the DIY section.

Good point. I guess we'll see. :)

There is an alternate way to tie the cave knot that is looser... Joel at TDL tied a boltsnap onto the SPG I bought from him that way, and I've copied it once or twice since. Although now that think about it, that would let the snap wander up and down the cable, since it's looser... Oh well, I guess we're back to "we'll see"!

I was thinking about making a quick-reply option with those three lines as checkboxes. We could then just click on the boxes that apply and a response would be automatically posted that succinctly stated your unique and original argument. A sample output is provided below for your perusal:

Miflex hoses. Anyone used them?: Now there's a solution in search of a problem. :shakehead:

Miflex hoses. Anyone used them?: That's what we call a possible failure point. :no

Miflex hoses. Anyone used them?: Do you realize that you're trying to fix a skill issue with equipment changes? :no"
