Would be interested to see what the weight difference would be on a full set of hoses vs standard hoses:

- 7ft primary
- 24" alternate
- 22" LP inflator hose
- 24" drysuit hose

A few pound reduction in weight in my regulator bag would be welcome for travel rig.

Phil, I'm sure all of us would appreciate it if you could see your way to whipping up a little comparison for us. :blinking:

A 40% reduction in weight is indeed substantial, though. Now that I think about it, though, I share David's concern... would these hoses be floaty? Might not matter for the secondary, drysuit and LP inflator hoses, but the primary hose could suck if it was floaty.

Looking at their UK site and figuring the Pound -> Dollar was about 2:1, it looked roughly twice as expensive as Scubatoys prices on regular hoses.

Who knows what the final price might come back as.

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Like anything in the US would come close to being as pricey as the UK. Try Pounds = Dollars and you'll be nearer the mark. Take a look at the Apple website, or find a UK price for an Apeks reg (made in Blackburn). Don't forget your jar of vaseline if you shop over here....:shakehead:

There is no evidence that these hoses are "floaty". No doubt about it, as the hose gets longer, the XS Scuba MiFlex v standard hose weight difference gets larger. Personally, I think this hose is the real deal.

On other issues, the sizes and colors of these hoses will be limited for the first six months or so, unless this hose absolutely takes off as an after market product. Barring a gigantic success, I don't anticipate specialized hoses like Posiden or 1/2 inch thread.

Another note................

Take a look here sometime tomorrow. I will announce a click-to-purchase page for pre-delivery orders on these hoses. All the prices are established and we know exactly which lengths and colors will be available in the US. All of this information will be available on our website by searching for Manufacturer XS Scuba or MiFlex hoses. I will also make a Hot Deals announcement here. Thanks.

When the inventory arrives, we will put up a table that shows the weight of the XS Scuba MiFlex v standard rubber hoses. We may even be able to put up some buoyancy information, if that matters. I simply don't have enough samples of all sizes to do that now. Thanks.

So how much will you spend to drop a pound on your hoses???? Maybe I'll have to put a set on my Mk7!!

When you're boarding a small aircraft to a remote dive location, every pound counts! Money well spent!
