As I was struggling with my valve shutdowns in class yesterday, I realized that my dry gloves are filling up with air, making it difficult for me not only to feel what I'm doing but also to actually just grip the valve handles.

Those of y'all who do this in dry gloves ... have you experienced that problem, and if so what did you do about it?

I'm using a Diving Concepts ring system and lined gloves ...

Bob, are you going into a "head up" position when you're doing the shutdowns? If so, I can see how that would present a problem. I used to go into a slight heads up position when doing valve drills and I did encounter that problem occasionally.

Now, when I'm doing shutdowns, I either stay in trim or actually go slightly head down so the valves "drop" a little closer to my head, making them a little easier to reach.

I haven't had a problem with getting too much air in my gloves since.

Nope.

I had to have smaller wrist seals put on my suit to make Mickey hands go away, my seals kept burping into my gloves. I don't dive with a "straw" to let air into the gloves either, my ring system is a SITech.
