Marc, you're right it does look like it was taken from the surface.

Where did you take that shot?

National Bird of Jamaica, also known as the swallow-tail hummingbird.
Has gorgeous irridescent colours.

2 hummingbirds seemed to be fighting for turf a male and a female.
The male has the long streamer type tails.

This is an almost 100% crop of a picture and the visual clarity is just amazing.
I've got a longer lens on the way so really look forward to coming back to photograph it again.

Nice, shot, Jam! Looks like a difficult lighting situation, but you still managed to get good detail.
 
wow.. we have hummers here in the summer, and they are really hard to get.....Nice shot
