Heading to Melbourne in middle of August and looking to log a few dives. Anybody have any suggestions on possible sites? Any good charters or local dive shops in the area? How about going for lobster?

Look forward to responses........

Doug, I lived in Melbourne for 23 years and never dove there. Not that I didn't want to, there are just no dive charters in the area. And, I don't own a boat. Only locals dive the area, great hunting and lobsters, but the viz is poor and the diving is in the 90 to 120 ft range. No reefs, only rocks to see. My understanding is that there are also abundant bull sharks. Better diving is further south to Jupiter or West Palm. You can do some beach dives off of Ft. Pierce that are pretty good. Good luck and have fun. If you get to dive the area, post a report.
