Temperatures have been cool but not uncomfortable lately. As for the sites for fires.... they do have open fire areas, but the area we'll be in doesn't have as high a canopy as the place we usually grab. A large fire ( 6' across ) may not be feasible, but a good campfire to sit around, toast mallows and jaw-jack will be a definite! Because we will be taking over such a large area, I'm hoping to setup a big fire area. Everything should be in place by Friday afternoon/evening. I still have a large grate for a raised fire, or it can be used for a grill. I'll be checking the papers for chicken sales to get plenty for the party.

ken is absolutely right. temps have been ideal. just hot enough to be cool but not
chilly... awesome time to come to Ginnie

I intend to bring beef brisket and maybe do up some Jamician Jerk Chicken legs Saturday afternoon. I will start this in time so that we are not eating at 2000 hrs in the dark this time!

Lets look at this. Friday evening... fend for yourself arriving at odd times...

Saturday Morning Eggs and Bacon everyone bring some and add to a collective. (EVERYONE make coffee more coffee COFFEE.. lots of Coffeeeeeee....)

Saturday afternoon
Me= 15 ~20 # Slow smoked BBQ beef brisket(spicy) , Jamaican Jerk Chicken Chicken(spicier).

Others= ideas.. roasted corn?... Kabobs?... Beans?...Slaw... Rabid Otter Stew.

Saturday evening left over from saturday late lunch( 1500 hrs)

other meals could either planned or on your own. Hot dog / hamburger meals with chips.

I am just planning on the BBQ brisket and Jerk Chicken for about 25~35 peeps on Saturday late afternoon 1500 hrs.

What is a estimated headcount BTW??

Eric

Last time we just kind of hit the grill with burgers, sausages and bits of chicken, other sides as needed throughout the day. I am sure it can all be worked in somehow. Reckon the headcount is in the high-30's for who will probably come out of those who are signed up.

Some of us are getting there earlier in the day, others later on friday. I'll probably bring dry stuff (chips and snacks) or canned stuff if we want beans or sides etc, i'll probably get some plates, cutlery, cups and napkins, nothing that is cooler material except something to drink  Throw some cash in the box to be shared out among those who brought the big stuff, by the sound of it that'll be Ken and Eric so far. Do we have a list of who is bringing what yet?

What are the cost involved? I'm planning to campout on Fri night and maybe Sat. However I not sure I'll be able to dive if my ear has not healed up by then.
I am still looking forward to spending quality SI with my SB buds even if I can't blow bubbles.

Chuck

I will be there my friend even if I have can only offer surface support. It's amazing how a break up with a non-diveing GF brings one to his senses and back to the world of his first love and comfort of very close and valued friends.

Looks like the Santa Fe is now under flood stage (FINALLY!!!).
Hopefully , they might have PULLED the tarp between the EAR and the EYE...(It was still UP as of last weekend ... (April 30th). Makes it a pain not to be able to enter thru da Ear...

I'll take a peek this weekend...
