I just wanted to clarify since I was half asleep when I posted last.

I don't want to appear less than grateful for the offer that Ken has made of his facilities. It's just a difficult call to make. If there were no camping facilities at Ginnie, I'd be just as prone to renting a hotel room, but since Ginnie does have facilities, that is part of the draw to me. Even though I'd miss out on alot of socializing, and knowing thsi group, it'd be alot, I just can't trade off the convenience of walking out of my tent geared up, hiking to a hole in the ground, and jumping in. The only better solution would be a cenote in Mexico....LoL.

But above all else, I hate being a burden on anyone, and I happen to know how much a burden that many guests could be, even on your property and not in your home. So I'm glad to see that the concensus is that we'd be better off having the event hosted at Ginnie. Thanks to you and your lovely wife anyhow Ken.

First of all, it looks like we HAVE the property!!!!! Second, I'll be reserving the Ginnie sites tomorrow morning. If the sites I want are taken, I'll scout for something similar. I expect to be arriving to setup camp on Friday, early. I'll have two tents, and two dining canopies setup. We'll be needing firewood, preferably some oak if available. My parents have had people raiding their firewood piles, so it's slim pickings there. I may have some once I get a few trees dropped at the new place. There are a few dead trees that should serve our purpose. The river looks decent. We might be able to have a drift dive if it continues to clear up. As for Tao's comments, may you swim through water turned yellow by powdered lemonade! :) If I were a bystander, not planning the party, I'd love to save 35 bucks on camping fees by standing at a guest's house. However, I also wouldn't want to impose, and would love to be wherever the party is. The idea of convenience is the reason I wanted the property I now have. I wanted to be close to the springs and river. I COMPLETELY understand how Tao feels. :) That's why I will be spending both nights at the campsite, myself. Holly may not, with the new baby on the way. The real plus is,... if we need anything, or anyone WANTS to save some money for diving fees, there IS room at my place and it's just around the corner. I hope to be at the campsite and setup before noon. I'll start stocking the freezer with chicken tomorrow as well. I hope to see a great turnout again this time. Tao, you up for a Columbian River Drift dive? I'll bring my kevlar wetsuit.

If the word dive is in it, I'm all for it man. Kevlar prerequisite or not. I just need to hurry up and get a float/marker buoy before I head down that way, that damn back-inflate wants to drown me. I just know it.

Ken Congrats! That is awesome news! WTG!!

Looking forward to it again :D

Probably gonna make it to High Springs late at night like in October... work and all...

What all is needed for this shindig? I'll be packing tightly, camping gear, SCUBA, camera junk, it all takes alotta room :) So anything I can buy locally would be great - or just contribute some $$. It looks like we'll be heading to the Keys from Ginnie Sunday morning :D make an entire week out of this Megadive.

Good on ya Ken.

Will there the return of the tank money can? I think most people brought stuff and dropped a few bills in there for Ken.

First off, Friday the 13th has struck! Sites #40, and 41 are taken for that weekend!
Ginnie is faxing me a map of what's available for that weekend. I will have the site #'s later this evening and a map of where it will be located.
Second, The donation tank will return. If you wish, just drop funds in there. That in and of itself helps greatly.
Next, bring, regular sodas: coke, pepsi, root beer, sprite,...
nobody seemed to touch the diet stuff, so I should have some left over. I will be packing up more of the kitchen today and have seen that we have plates, plasticware, and cups galore.
Napkins/paper towels would be helpful. Split oak would help if anyone has any. I'll be bringing some from the property so that shouldn't be a problem.
There are a few grocery stores in and around this area so chicken leg quarters and side orders will be great. I am trying to hold off on major freezer stocking until after the move.
If anyone wants to grab some eggs for breakfast, or more omelet stuff, that would be cool, too. The omelet pot will be kicking both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

My HOME phone number will be changing when we move in late April, but the cell is still the same. 352 281 4879. More info as it presents itself. Gear up for a great weekend!

If I recall correctly without looking at the lot map, there are several big lots in that center hub near the bathrooms. Might be promising.

Between dealing with mortgage and real estate brokers, and a sudden change for the worse in family situations (more on that at the megadive), I have been knocked slightly off-course. Holly and I will be going to Ginnie tomorrow to look at sites and make the rez for camping. I asked someone to let me know what was available and they were supposed to have faxed me a map with availabilities listed on it. Never recieved it. I'm having to drive over there and lock things down in the morning. I apologize for letting it drag on this late. The megadive is still on and Ginnie is still the site. The date is still May 13-15. The only question is WHICH campsites we will be staying in. I'll have that tomorrow by noon! This party will be my sanity break from everything that's been going on. :)
Ahhh,... the roller coasting of home-buying. We'll probably bring Lil' B for the day on Saturday, but otherwise I'm not sure if Holly and B will be staying for the whole weekend. If all goes well, Holly and I can get some diving in together on Saturday, and perhaps Sunday as well. She han't been in the water much since certed and we want to change that! Following Tao's suggestion, if the center area near the restrooms is open, it will make us easier to find as well! I will most likely be looking at that tomorrow morning. More as it develops. :)

We are TAKING OVER!!!! We have sites #30, 47 & 48. For those of you who had to walk SO far to the bathrooms before, we are almost surrounding it! We are taking over the majority of the area between the bathrooms and the tree line where we have been.
We will be easy to find. As you pull into the camp area, drive past the bathrooms. We are immediately next to and after them. Look for the "Megatent City." Here is a map showing the location. The official party starts when we wake up Saturday Morning, but camping will start Friday morning. Let's rock this joint!
