It covers the back of the computer when you are not wearing a wetsuit to make it more comfortable on your bare wrist
I emailed my question in on Christmas Eve, so I didn't expect a quick response. I was surprized when I got up this morning and they emailed me back.
They requested that I upload a log and send it to them for review. I'm hoping they resolve my problems as I purchased 3 icon HD computers and my family and I are in Key Largo and hope to use them tomorrow.
Although not critical, I'd like to be able to upload our information into Dive Organizer!

Hi I'm new to this site, have had a Mares Icon HD for Christmas, have you had any replies to your thread? Me nor my partner can get ours to connect with either of our PC's? Finding it really difficult!!!! Thankyou

I had the problem about the icon not syncing with a PC. I posted the solution that worked for me on another forum.

Thought I'd post a solution to a problem I found in case anyone else is having trouble getting their Mares ICON computer to work with their PC.
When I installed the Mares Dive Organiser it didn't find the USB linked ICON dive computer and windows (Vista)signalled that it couldn't find the USB driver it needed. The Mares site is useless - their support site doesn't even support the ICON - all you get is an email address to write to!!!!
The solution which worked for me was to wait until windows failed to find the driver it wanted and point it manually to the driver which is called usbser-mares.inf It had been put in the folder
C:\Program Files\Mares\DiveOrganizer\Drivers
on my PC. Once installed the problem was resolved. What I can't understand is why such flaky drivers and software are still being issued with p*** poor support on the otherwise all singing and dancing website.
Hope this helps anyone else struggling to get the "i-phone of dive computers" to link to their PC

did you email them directly or the rep on here? we have a whole forum solving this problem as well as a couple of others. they may not have responded to you, but I can say the their rep on here, Zak O'hara, has been nothing but IMPRESSIVE with his customer service. Btw, how are you liking your icon?
