Does not matter what thikness is. It just should be enough thikness to prevent diafragm goes to the chink between reg hull and plastic dry camera pistone (so, condoms is too thin for diaphragm :) )
For example you can use old broken mask to take material for diaphragm.

Flexibility is important. So the thicker it is the softer/more flexible the material needs to be.

IIRC the Diameters of the Apeks diaphragms are 1.3/8" (although 1.2/5" seems more accurate) for the clear environmental diaphragm and 1.1/2" for the main diaphragm.

Hi I wonder if you may know or anybody else what material is the grey main I st diaphragm in Al or Ap regulators looks different then the rubber-like

from mares or hog regs?

It was taken from friends speaks service kit and I dont think its from truck covers as it has to work under pressure and have to have some standard norms EN250 for starter as the regulator itself. But will check it out thx

The texture of it looks a lot like the material used to make whitewater rafts. There are a few flavors of boat, but Hypalon (DuPont) is generally regarded as some of the best. A lot of manufacturers use PVC or polyurethane as well. Here's a 2x96" roll of Hypalon material for $8US, only comes in black. If you want colors, they also sell 6x18" patches in a few colors here.

PVC patch kits are also available, in several thicknesses/deniers.

Depending on how critical thickness is, it makes sense this stuff would be a good candidate. Impermeable to air/water, extremely UV resistant, very abrasion resistant, flexible, etc.

I wanted to follow up from an old post. I bought a sheet of 1/16" (~1.5mm) clear silicone rubber to experiment. I used a 35mm leather punch to make a bunch of hydrostatic diaphragms. It says it's ~60A duro (+/-5)

These are same thickness and seem to be similar durometer to ones included the ScubaGasket kit.

I bought a 12" by 12" sheet from Amazon. It's basically enough to make 64 hydrostatic diaphragm with some extra material. The sheet was 12.99USD from Amazon so I'm around 20 cents per hydrostatic diaphragm.

McMasterCarr also sells another sheet for a bit more money which would probably also work.

My next experiment will be finding a suitable diaphragm material to make my own diaphragms. I ordered some material to test and compare and will report back but if someone knows the actual material used for the diaphragm I would be grateful. I'll compare it to the Fabric-Reinforced EPDM Rubber that McMasterCarr sells

I have about 7 or so of the clear Apeks ones as I swap them for the cool all black reusable Sapphire ones. If you're interested message me. Cheers.
Can I ask where you buy the cool black ones? Is there a domestic source in general for Apeks parts/ service kits?

I need an XTX50 adjustment knob plug- it's only a couple bucks but international shipping can get expensive.

1/16 inch / 1.59 mm silicone as well, for the older Poseidon metal or Delrin antifreeze / "environmental" caps, packed with a 1:1 glycerin / alcohol mix . . .
