Since Chad is always ribbing me about not posting (just lurking), I'll shock him with a little update.

On Saturday Dec 28 I had the good fortune to break in my new Cave 1 card with another recent grad in High Springs, FL. We dove the Peacock system on two different routes that afternoon, and oh boy am I hooked. Anyone who ever wants to talk caves with me is welcome to dive in (ha ha, pun intended).

And coming up Jan 13-18, I'll be in St. Thomas for work (yes, I'm dodging whatever you are throwing at me), so I plan on spending as much time submerged as possible. It's the first time I've been to the VI, so I'll give a report upon return. Any tips you want to pitch my way about St. Thomas will be appreciated.

Safe diving!

Back to lurking around in the dark...:mean:

Peacock was my first system. Years ago...Pretty cool huh?

I am going to St. Thomas in early April, so let me know how you like it.
I went cavern diving in Mexico last week, loved it, I would like to try cave diving, but I don't have the time right now so.. I guess it will have to wait.

Shame on you Ed for just lurking all this time! Sounds like your cave dive was great. Better you than me!

Is the St Thomas trip a certification trip? or different work? I've never been to St Thomas, only St Croix ... and yes, I'm throwing things at you! BTW, I really liked the dive light you recommended, but I didn't get to try it out on any night dives. :( But there's always the next time! It's good to see you in non-lurking mode. :)

Thanks; I'll let you know about St. Thomas when I return. It isn't a cert trip, nor is it for New Horizons. It just happens that the president of the board of directors of the organization I work for wants to have a winter meeting in a warm place, hence his decision to take us to St. Thomas. Tough assignment, yes?

There's you at the entrance of the cave...but where's your gear man...how did you get through with no tank or reg???? Man you must be one hell of a diver...I envy you

I saw GUEdiver with a post and thought I must be on the wrong board.

Glad you had a good trip. I will be ready next year to hit those caves with you.
