Thanks to everyone so far. I was looking at the Worthingtons and not the Fabers. So many options. I may try to get with some other divers and dive a couple of combinations.

Good idea get out diving some of the difrent combos but with all the tanks i owned and tried this is what i ended up with

dry suit backmount : worthington hp130"s
wet suit back mount : al80's or faber lp95/98's
sidmount faber 98's

Sorry that I got ni on this a little late, but maybe someone might find this added data useful.

My tech instructor is about 6-3 and has long used Faber 108's as one of his sets. I am about 6-0 and purchased Worthington 108's. He played around with my Worthington's and decided he liked them better than his Fabers.

Sea Pearls was having a good sale on complete double sets not long ago. Maybe they still are. (But you have to have an in through a retailer.)

I think I may have breifly met your tech instructor a couple of weeks ago at Rock Lake. Oceans First from Boulder? I was down doing some training with Rob. Thanks for the input.

Yes, that was he. I was there as well. Perhaps we will wander into one another there again.

I recently purchased twin Worthington LP108's for cave diving (though have used them for open ocean wrecks) and love them. I'm 5"11 and use them w/ a DS (would never use them diving wet) and they trim out perfectly compared to twin AL80's. I pump them up to about 3300psi (just shy of the typical cave fill of 3500-3600). I have a Halcyon 40# wing but am considering upgrading to the 60#-er for attaching deco bottles. Sucks going up a boat ladder in 4-5 footers though.

So I have just spent the last two hours researching doubles. Lots of information on SB! I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the advantages and disadvantages to the many different setups.

My question is for anyone who has doubled LP 108s. I'm a big guy, 6'6" and about 260 lbs. I think I'd like the extra length of the LP108s over HP100s. I also like the versatility of the LP 108s (gas volume and fills). I know they are very heavy and I'm not excited about the extra weight, but I don't think it will be as much of an issue for someone my size (I may pay for that statement later). How do the LP108s trim out for someone my height? What about the HP100s?

Thanks

I'm 6' and 220. The 108/112s are good for me for length wise, for me very little if any extra weight. The 121s set is my max - out of ass and max on weight. All trim out fine. You should be able to handle either. Ditch the HP100s I tried them a couple of times and never really liked them.
