Hi all, I'm 6' 3" (190 cm) and weigh 180 lbs. (82 kg). Will standard drysuit sizes fit me, or am I basically required to get a custom drysuit? In particular, I'm wondering if drysuits with telescoping torsos can accommodate extra height, such that I could go with a standard size, even if that particular size is not recommended for my height according to the manufacturer's size chart. Thanks in advance for your insights!

You can always make a drysuit "fit" in terms of limb length if you go up a size, and the telescoping torso on models like the DUI TLS-350 does help a little. But based on your height and weight it's going to be baggy around the middle. You should really get a custom size.

Keep in mind that the telescoping torso of trilaminate suits are intended to help with donning and doffing. Since the fabric has no stretch to it, you have to have the telescoping torso in order to lift the suit over your head as you get into and out of it. It's not there to cover a range of body types.

An exception to this is the old Aqualung Fusion suits, formerly owned by Whites and now being produced by Whites again. I believe that their Fusion suits are due to be available sometime this spring. Because of their design - an inner "bag" and an outer thin neoprene cover that has several attachment points across the inside of the suit - they can accommodate a wider range of body types and sizes.

Otherwise, as Nick wrote above, a custom suit is the way to go if an off-the-rack suit doesn't fit you well.
