If you want to make them safer, learn tri-mix, take a deep diving class and a deco diving class, get a set of doubles, a buddy that stays with you and will actually watch out for you and practice with him in shallower water until you 're certain you can handle anything that happens.

At 160' on air, your uncle is guaranteed to be narced out of his mind. I don't know what kind of things he's doing down there, but watching out for you isn't one of them.

Ordinarily you couldn't get more than half the people on this board to agree that fire is hot. Having virtually everybody say that your uncle is going to get you killed should be telling you something.

Terry

You are aware you are responding to a 15yo. What agency in their right mind would certify him for trimix? Why even bring that up?

ok so your not trolling..

the tern deco diving should also be erased from your vocabulary...
learn how to mange you air.. and nitrox is a good idea... get more no deco time...

Nitrox is NOT a good idea for these types of dives. When someone won't listen to all the good advise he's getting here, What makes you think he'll listen and apply correctly what he learns in a nitrox class?

yeah.. i realized that after i posted..
if he cant follow ow guidelines how can he handle the stricter laws of phisics of nitrox diving... uncle diver will have him diving 32 at a depth of 160..

My uncle said that he doesn't get narced until 180'.

This is more like the answer I was looking for. don't I need to be 18 years old before I can take deco diving course. I can't get doubles yet, because I am only 15 and can't handle that much weight yet. I am going to try to take the AOW course this summer.

Just goes to show you, If you ask enough people you can always find an answer you want. Even if it is the wrong one

Being new to SB I wasnt sure what a troll was. Now I get it.

your lookin for a short answer to be a deep technical diver.. there is none..
its like trying to win the boston marathon when you just joined the high school track team..
can it be done yes but training is gonna be required. and lots of it.
diving is great fun, but ya gotta take it one step at a time... no money for the class right now....well read....rwad everything you can...
its not a substitute to proper training, but will help you understand better when the time comes
