ReefTrekker:Thanks for the posts guys.
Grier - I'm dying to know...........what is "la salchicha que zambulle"??
Jeremy
It's part of a bad joke that started on our Key Largo dive around the first of May. I had to deploy my rather phallic dive sausage in the current, and the conversation went downhill immediately. (Well, you know these Lady Conchs, they're fascinated by a well-inflated sausage, what can I say? )
Anyway, at some point, the conversation turned to musings on how to say dive sausage in Spanish. I used an online translation program and got the above term. As with most online translations, this one left something to be desired. Apparently, it translates into something like, "The salami that plunges/dips", etc. H2Andy actually provided a nice discussion on the Key Largo trip thread about the linguistics of the term and my translation.
Of course, knowing what I know now, there's no way in hell that I'd give up the term. I'm thinking of making t-shirts...
