myself and some buddies were at Lake Rawlings this week-end and managed to lose some gear(it fell out of the back of our pick-up). anyone hear of a blue rubber made tub being found? one tub was recover'd and turned in( this was my buddy's gear) my gear however, was found(by someone else), but not turned in. i know it was "found" because we were told by several others that the blue tub was spotted on the road side. but, by the time we manage to get back to that area it was gone. it managed to leave the roadside with-in a 15 minute window of time. feel free to e-mail me at GONEHAWKN@YAHOO.COM if you know or hear of anything. thanks in advance.

Wow, sorry to hear about that.

Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear bout the loss. You might also want to come over to the NC divers board. We have a lot of VA members, the link is below my sig.
Good Luck

THANKS GUYS.....i have been lurking around here for a while now(i was certified OW back in May). i just dont post much. i find myself too busy reading posts and trying to absorb idea's and knowledge from more experienced divers. i am just glad that my 2 dive buddies had enough gear between them for me to finish up my week-end. i was there at Rawlings for my AOW cert dives. had my one buddy's gear not been returned, the week-end probably would have been over.

oh, and for what it is worth. who ever may have found the tub/gear knows who it belongs to because all my stuff had my last name on it. also my reg bag(as well as several other items in the tub) had/has my name, phone number/s, and address on it........

Did you forget to strap the gear tubs down? I frequent Rawlings and the path in and out it rough and where it intersects the pavement is also a mess.......where did you loose it, gravel lane or paved road?

Lar

nah, the tub was not strap'd down. never just had a tub "hop" on out. some how either the tail-gate of the truck was left down or it fell down and we did not hear it over all of us talking in the truck. the tub was lost right there where you turn left from the Nottaway onto the "highway" headin' up to the quarry. at any rate, it is long gone by now, and my new stuff will be here soon. i hope the reg free-flows on 'em and the BC gets a hole in it.

It may have been picked up by a non-diving local. Try looking up the County and calling the Sheriff to make a report. Maybe a local pawn shop? BTW, I know that "hole" in the end of the road that did it. I think I lost some fillings from my teeth on that stretch...

jdvaughn, or should i address you by your new sceen name Liv4divin, you may want to keep your comments to yourself if all your going to do is talk from your rear-end. besides, you speak of something(as with most things) that you know nothing about. now, unless you have something usefull to say, i think you may want to keep your comments to yourself. after all, i think you have anger'd enough board members with your false advertisements and childish PM's.
