I just came back from Cayman Brac Beach Resort last February. Our entire group filled out all the required paperwork before we went on the trip, so we came prepared. It was quite a bit to fill out, but I am a firm believer in being as prepared as possible, not wait till showing up to complete the paperwork. I had the opposite experience of our first dive briefing, and I had no problem with it at all. Being my very first valet-diving experience, and newly certified as of December last year, I very much appreciated being briefed on and listening to whatever they had to say before we began our first dive. All of my dive guides were excellent, and I had zero complaints about any of them. I don't have much to say about the dive computer issue, all I remember is them warning us about making sure we had it on us, and used it. My Shearwater Peregrine TX performed flawlessly. Overall, I really don't have anything bad to say about the resort, the boats, any of it's staff, and I absolutely loved my diving experience there!
If I ever go back, I will go to LCBR (Little Cayman). They boated us over there for one of the dives and the Bloody Bay Wall was so much fun, and I got to go down to 110 feet. I know that is nothing, and I am certainly not one of those divers who brag about how deep they go. I just wanted to experience going deeper than 30 feet, and I got my wish. While going deep is ok, I got my first taste of how utterly FAST you go through you air that deep!!! I knew that would happen, but to experience it for the first time was something else. It almost brings a sense of disappointment because I quickly realized that being shallow is king for air consumption, but also natural sunlight which makes it a win-win.
