Just wanted to wish all the Conch Divers good luck - no matter where Francis hits! I see it's steered more north since early am - but when they move so slowly, you can't tell. As a former Floridian, now Tar Heel, I've been through too many - go if you decide to stick, stay safe!

Anybody need a place to stay let me know - although you'll have to head to NC!

H2Andy:
ow... that gives me a headache just looking at it

[edit] you know, when it comes to making fun of me,
chuck is faster than a hurricane
Well, for as fast as Frances is moving forward, that ain't saying much! LOL:D

Oh, Chuck, you still gonna sleep on my couch this weekend? :D

I wish I was sleeping on your couch. It would be a lot more fun than what's in store for us.

But not as much fun as is making fun of Andy. Andy, "Who loves ya,baby?":07:

Well, buddy, if you need to evacuate.....lemme know....

Well good news of the day, no-one seems to be on the road, the stores looked pretty empty. I managed to pick up yet more groceries and was only waiting behind one other person, then i found gas, so i filled both Becky and my cars whilst it was still going. Still bored waiting again, still wondering whether this thing will come through stupidly strong or not so strong and when it will all start and end - so i can clean up and get out diving!! Good luck to all those of you on the coast, not sure we will see half of what you guys will this time.

BTW, can we say yo-yo?? The projection has bounced from Vero - Lakeland - Tarpon Springs to Melbourne - Orlando - Ocala - Big Bend all through the last bunch of advisory times - i still have a sneaking suspicion (sp?) that it might head a little north of us and be more Cocoa - Sanford - etc, dont know why, but that is what my guess is until i see more data - again!

Squalls out on the gulf stream,
Big storms coming soon.
I passed out in my hammock,
God, I slept way past noon.
Stood up and tried to focus,
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far.
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary,
So I stumbled next door to the bar.

[Chorus:]
And now I must confess,
I could use some rest.
I can't run at this pace very long.
Yes, it's quite insane,
I think it hurts my brain.
But it cleans me out and then I can go on.

There's something about this Sunday
It's a most peculiar gray
Strolling down the avenue
That's known as A1A
I was feeling tired, then I got inspired.
And I knew that it wouldn't last long
So all alone I walked back home, sat on my beach
And then I made up this song.

[Chorus]

Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots of there abouts,
There's white caps on the ocean.
And I'm watching for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside.
In a week I'll be in gay Paris;
That's a mighty long airplane ride.

[Chorus]
Yes, It cleans me out and then I can go on.

-Jimmy Buffett

I'm sure glad I got plenty of beer today. It looks like it's going to be a long wait for the storm with nothing open. From the weather channel, looks like WPB is getting some of the bands from the storm. It's been breezy in Melbourne all day.

I got a major portion of my garage cleaned up. That's a good thing... nothing else better to do. I was hoping to clear out enough space to put my car in there... but... no luck. Maybe tomorrow.

The Brevard Emergency folks said it's going to take 34-36 hours for this storm to make it through Brevard. That's a lot of rain. I sure hope the drainage system can handle it.
