Alright, I just checked the forecast and it's looking pretty horrible at the moment for a Saturday night dive (10-12 ft swells). Maybe we should wait a couple days and hope things settle down a bit and revisit the night dive issue then.

D_O_H:
Anyone else for Saturday? Is anyone besides Dan-o bringing a boat on Sunday? Dan, does your boat have a bigger brother it can bring?

I also have a diveyak (with all of the "stuff" needed to do dives) that we could anchor with the inflatable, if 4 of us want to do bluefish. 3 is doable in the inflatable, but it's tight.
Actually we could probably anchor them together and do either bluefish or Marco's pinnacle.

Hmm. I think there are at least 6 of us. I would use this as an excuse to buy the kayak I've been eyeing for like a year, were I not under strict orders to not spend another freaking dime on scuba equipment (I've been on something of a spending spree for the last few months).

The 3:00 C&M forecast got better (still not great):

.FRI...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT.
W SWELL 5 FT. SHOWERS LIKELY.

.SAT...SW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT.
NW SWELL BUILDING TO 8 TO 10 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

.SUN...S WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5FT.
W SWELL 9 TO 12 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

I put the Friday forecast in to show what it's building from. My guess is that
Sat. Morning will will be decent to good, turning ugly in the afternoon. I'd go on that
forecast for Saturday, but get an early start. Sunday is another story.
It's over my maximums, and I don't see hints in the WAM that it might be
better (other than the usual Barrister Effect).

It's actually come down quite a bit - that 10-12 ft was in the bay. The forecast is down to 5-9 in there now. I'm still not thrilled about that, but at least the forecasted swells are getting smaller.

I'd do a Friday early evening and/or night dive if anyone is game, though those 3-5 ft. wind waves sound pretty nasty.

I refuse to let rough water conditions nix yet another weekend of diving and ask that the forecasters revise their predictions accordingly.

I think Dan should buy a big rope and we could all hang on while he tows us into Bluefish. That is one incredible site.

Hmmm. Looks like a Friday night dive, 3 on Sat. incl. a night dive, and 2 on Sunday are plausible. I guess it all hinges on the weather. Let's all hope for the best.

Hey your'e really trying to get a bunch of dives in huh?

I figured with all this rain you would have had enough of the water :)

Really? I thought she wasn't really going to get enough dives. :-D

Really? I would figure all this rain would be an inspiration to get into the water. ;-)

There was a pretty cool looking halocline in Bluefish last weekend. You don't see that very often. Hopefully (??) it's there for everyone to see this weekend, too. I'll bring the video camera.
