Hey the subject says it all. There are great yak dives here - like the Carthaginian, St Anthony, Marty's reef, Coral Gardens......
You've read all the advantages of yak diving on the Oahu thread - now let's get the Maui guys together for some fun!
Waddya say?

Sup Mark...

This is Hawaii -- you might be in for a long wait, Kelli!

Jay,
There are numerous web sites that have details on kayak diving - such as http://www.kayakdiver.com
http://www.kayakdiving.com/
I yak dive regularly. It's a great way to dive without the expense of a big boat (even storage is an issue here). I'm looking for other divers on Maui to share the fun. Of course you need a yak or a good friend with a yak. If someone wants to come to Maui to learn, I can facilitate that experience too. There are a few posts in the Hawaii O'Hana group about yak dives and in other SB areas as well. You can Google kayak diving for more info too.

Mark, I did like 100 kayak dives off Makena in 2005. Now living on Oahu. My yak buddy Thomas in Kihei is jones' for some yak diving. I will be in Maui April 4 to 10th, and looking for a Yak dive buddy. I keep a setup Malibu 2 in Kihei...how about it. My holy grail is to do the 80's or 120's off red hill. Best to email me direct as I rarely check the board--have to try more often, this is a good community. solsen@pacific-energy.com. Oahu 265-5971 Steveo Yak Diver

Mark, do you know of any place I can get a decent deal on a used kayak? I would kayak dive all the time in California but unfortunately I had to sell them before moving here. Please let me know if you or anyone else has an idea? (I do check the Maui bulletin often)

Setveo,

Right now I'm free for Sat Apr 7 (work & wife obligations otherwise). Red Hill sounds good - but black sand beach access is shut down right now. We could put in further north if conditions are good. I'm planning on coral gardens this weekend - Tim will agree that this is one of the best yak dive sites om Maui. I've got a Zest two - so we could offer to take other divers. Should be fun. Let's keep in touch on this one.

Craigs list - Maui news classifieds - other free mags at the Tesoro... Friends saw a zest two the other day (for $200 - what a deal) but it was gone before they could act. My neighbor got a used yak from one of the guides. He says that they like to cycle their stock so you might get a deal from one of them. There's yak guys down in Makena landing all the time and there are always some parked in front of Kalama park near the newbie surf cove south of the fiberglass humpback. I splurged and got mine new from Valley Isle Marine in Wailuku. Paid list but no extra for shipping... Good folks. They show several in the used inventory now:

Good luck
