Sunny, Divetech has moved and expanded operations since the Turtle reef days. I can not speak for it myself, yet it has been mentioned on this board on how great their dive operations (shore and boat with tech equip) through both the lighthouse point and colbalt coast locations. (I think it's mostly lighthouse point now) I'd like for someone to shout out why we should think of them as our vacation diving specialist.

We've had a few shout outs on this thread, I would really like to see more names of operators and the compelling reason why they were chosen. Mine was 9 AM beach pick up instead of a 6:30-7:45 hotel pick up.....(followed by a 7-8AM boat departure)

As it was stated earlier in this thread an operation focused on the cruise industry, well that is a positive and complleing reason to use them if that is what you're looking for. Doctor fish said he would stay away from and operation that had more than 8 divers. I want him to way he uses X on Grand Cayman because than have no more than 8 divers. I want a reason to use someone.

I'm there first week of March 2012, so this thread is relevant to my interests. Staying at Turtle Nest Inn on the South / East end - the "quiet side".

And there's a guide rope for the directionally challenged. Now if they only had beer.

Photos are the Shore Dive from Lighthouse Point. First one is about 120' deep,second is 200. Below that it drops vertically for several thousand feet.
One of my all time favorite dives.

It's OK but not the best.
For a shallow,close in dive I would suggest Sundivers at the old Turtle Farm. (Beneath the Cracked Conch,used to be a Divetech location before Lighthouse Point existed). If you go left (facing out) there is a "cave" (Actually just an overhanging part of the reef) Normally home to a school of large Tarpon. If you get lucky it will be full of silversides which the Tarpon chase after dark. Very nice dive.

I'm a newbie and just did my first ocean diving at Grand Cayman a week ago. We dove with Indigo Divers the first day - did two 2-tank dives (morning and afternoon) and I had a great experience. We did Little Tunnels, Doc Poulson, Big Tunnels, and Peppermint Reef. Chris and Kate have a very nice but smaller boat, and they take no more than 6 divers. Very friendly and great to work with.
We did a 2-tank dive with DNS a couple days later (Indigo was booked). Dusty was great and his boat (8 diver max) was much larger and very comfortable. We really had a great experience with both and they both pick up at the Marriott at 7:15 am. They stuck to the west shore for all dives. We wanted to do the north wall but they said the winds would not permit and come back in the summer for a north wall dive. Oh well, I really loved every single dive and saw tons of fish.
