Considering diving Cayman Brac next spring. Have extensive experience in Turks & Caicos plus time in Roatan, Belize and Grand Cayman. How does CB compare?
Thnx

Have never been to Belize but have dived all the other spots you mentioned. IMO diving at Brac is better than Roatan, Grand, T and C; but not quite as good as Little Cayman.

That's just my opinion.

We are going there for our fifth trip or so in May. It is my favorite place to dive in the western hemisphere. Way better than the places that you mentioned. However, I have not been to Turks and Caicos, only other parts of the Bahamas.

One of the unique things about Cayman Brac is the ability to do both great shore and boat dives. The only similar place like that in the western hemisphere is Bonaire. While the infrastructure on Cayman Brac is much less than Bonaire, the underwater topography in Cayman Brac is stunning.

We usually try to make one boat dive to Little Cayman. You have to dive Randy's Gazebo if you have a chance.

We stay at the Alexander Hotel

I just got back from Cayman Brac last February with people in my dive shop. Our boat took us to Little Cayman on one of the days, and I preferred Little Cayman ever so slightly over Cayman Brac. I'd be willing to return to either. The food and staff at the resort were top notch, and so was the food. Bring a refillable plastic water bottle, as the canned water there is expensive. This was my first dive trip, so I can't really compare it to other places. We did see stingrays, eagle rays (my favorite), big lobsters, multiple nurse sharks, crabs, I sadly missed the octopus and other sharks the rest of the group saw because I was either not being very observant or I was simply looking in the wrong direction. I used a scopolamine patch to control my severe nausea I usually get on boats, and it worked beautifully. I did get stung on my leg by a jellyfish on the night dive. My fault for wearing swim shorts the entire trip, but I got over it real fast and did not let that ruin my trip. I need to type up a trip report and post it in here!!!
