If you plan on spending that much cash on a BT you can include a secondhand Shearwater Predator, they have an OLED display. Some divers might be upgrading and you should find a well looked after unit at a good pri$e.

Only problem is that the Predator's current firmware still lacks the BT function that the Petrel has. Not sure if SW is going to continue with the Predator firmware improvements now that they've dropped the Predator from production...I'd heard noises that a gage function/configurable center row would be coming to the Predator, but that would be a question best addressed to SW in their forum.

True about the BT function not on the Predator. I also understood that the firmware would be upgraded on the Predator and asked the question in the SW forum some time ago with no response :depressed:. That being said the Predator will still show time and depth information even though in dive mode and not lock you out on subsequent dives if you venture outside algo parameters. The upside is that a second hand Predator is likely to be unlocked with VPM-B for future use:cheerleader::cool3:
