I think I have an idea for a new gasoline-free vehicle. Tax write off, here I come! My buddy with the vegetable oil powered Mercedes is going to feel pretty silly when I show him this. Now, where did I leave those lobsters... ;)

I am the originator of the Gloster Weekend thread and since it was referenced here I thought I should put in my 1 1/2 cents worth. I did not see any dead lobsters on my dive. We anchored in close to the breakwater and Alice and I swam into the wall and turned out towards open water. We worked from about halfway up the wall down to the bottom. Laurent said he went to the wall, did a quick swim seaward then turned in towards shore. He said he was in about 20 feet of water, in close to shore and huggijng the wall when he came across from 15-20 small dead lobsters spread out over a small area. As I said in my earlier post, everything was COVERED with dirt and "dust". The outflow from the inner harbor area went right by where he found the dead bugs, so it's not unreasonable that the diluted water, and the debris were partially responsible for their demise. It was about 1:30 -2:00 pm when we splashed, si it was pretty close to low tide. Obviously we have no way of knowinghow long they had been dead before he found them.

I dove The Boston Harbor May the 18th, in a site where you can spot lots of lobster in the summer, this time we spot 4 bugs only one keeper, no dead ones at all, and the ones we were able to see, they looked pretty healthy to me, i want to think that this is not going to be a big deal since the most of the lobsters are and will be in deeper water for at least another month, i mean right now you maybe able to catch a couple keepers, but it is not till July when the really big bugs show.

Lets all wish good luck to the lobster on their trip from the deep ocean to my kitchen.

Dive safe, and good luck to you all this season, i wish you all the best of lucks!

I agree with you Rafael, I didn't see many from my shore dives last weekend down the Cape (max depth 30'). Has anyone had any luck with good sized keepers and what depth were you at? I'm thinking if you can get out to 60-80' you should start seeing some nice sized bugs?

Last night I did 2 dives from the shore at Sandwich town beach. The first I saw 1 lobster. It was definately big enough. The second dive all the lobsters I saw were too small, or barely big enough. The second dive however was at night when you can't take the lobsters because they all come out to play. Not the time to catch them, but night time is definately a good time to see what is around for lobsters. I think most of the bigger ones are still in deeper water

Yes, figure 7 appears to be a lobster treadmill. There is something we all want to put on the resume: invented a lobster treadmill!

The Lobster Bow-flex was a complete bust. Turns out those space age bands are actually giant Rubber bands and well you do the math. Lobster+Rubber Bands=?.
