Wind Guru.com predicts with great confidence wind conditions for Saturday and Sunday that will most likely close the port, may open Monday afternoon. That is strong North West winds starting tonight. Sorry!

Yes - and this one looks like a warranted port closure with 20mph N/NW winds and gusts of 30 - 35mph

Our low is forecast to be in the 60's - get out those winter coats and enjoy the Cozumel winter!

Looks to me as a mild front moving over. Will be back in the 80"s in two days....

Two inches of snow last night in Houston means something ugly is not a mild front.

Didnt know you were in Houston and thought the thread was weather on CZM?

The fact is that fronts that come through South Texas USUALLY end up in Cozumel within 24 hours, that is based on 25 years of experience, and you should know it is now possible to get weather reports for either location even if you would be in Mongolia. But the prime source of info for Cozumel norte prediction is wind strength and direction, which is most reliably found at windguru.com.

Christi knows that, and even in New York you can get windguru.com

I read weather maps just fine and that looks like a mild frontal passage in CZM. The front that went through Houston is already over Atlanta and moving NE now....will make it to NY by morning...

I concur with Dave 1000% on this - based on his 25 years and my almost 16 years of doing this we sort of know how to watch and plan for these things - and it's our job to do that for our divers! Anything that moves through Texas is a good indication of what we will get within 24 - 48 hours - not as cold of course - but we still get something from it usually. Temps being back in the 80's in a few days means nothing - I was in Minnesota in October and it was 68 and sunny one day, and snowing the next - so I don't get your point there.

Whatever mild front you are looking at is irrelevant when Wind Guru is showing 20 - 25mph N/NW winds - Wind-Guru is the most reliable source for wind and wave predictions there is aside from Buoyweather.

PS: Dolphins are moving south today - that's always a big indicator too - our divers saw a pod underwater today!

The big question is Sunday and Monday, once closed the port captain seems to hesitate on reopening. I expect everyone to be ready to go on Sunday morning and waiting at 8AM for the late 7:30 announcement.
On a positive note Mateo's birthday is tomorrow which means a party at Ohana's.

I would not plan on Sunday, Monday noon is my guess for opening.
