Had a great dive yesterday w/ Jupiter Dive Center!!! Lots of Lemon Sharks, Nurse Sharks, a few Reef Sharks and one VERY friendly Goliath Grouper.

Dive sites- Area 29 and Tunnels

Unfortunately, there is no music on the video yet, as I ran out of time this morning, before heading to work.

Thanks for watching!!!!

Very nice video. The behavior of the goliath was really interesting. I've seen some that didn't show much fear of divers but never one that swam among and followed the divers quite like that one. Some of the Lemons looked huge! Vis on Tunnels looked decent too.

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed it.

I've seen goliaths following divers around on at least two other sites in that area, Lemon Drop and Shark Canyon. Lemon Drop was a baited encounter so no real surprise, but the one on Shark Canyon wasn't. That fish followed us around like a puppy the whole dive.

There's a large GG on the east side of Bonton Beach reef at 007 that will follow you for extended periods, sometimes the whole dive, just like a puppy. The interaction stops just short of petting, like the Nassau Grouper in Little Cayman

Divers have been feeding Goliaths the Lionfish.

What a lovely video man! I have been to Jupiter a few times hoping to catch encounters like these but never found them up close and so many. Great vid.

I did not know that, particularly on the Boynton Beach reef. I would be surprised if that was true. The east facing reef does not get many divers compared to the west

Thanks for checking out the video everyone!!! I still can't get over how awesome of an experience it was!!!

Wow. I've never been to Jupiter. Did NASA help you get there (what was the carry on baggage limit)? Oh, Florida. My bad.

I haven't dived the West Coast in Florida in some time, but I remember having a goliath grouper come out of the wreck of the City of Washington (I think) and come over to check me out. Reminded me of our giant sea bass (which do, on occasion, follow divers around even though we don't feed them).

The big difference I find between giant sea bass in CA and goliaths here in FL is that, unless I completely missed the spots for them during my 3 1/2 years, giant sea bass are frakking rare. I've never seen one outside of an aquarium tank. In the West Palm and Jupiter areas, I see goliaths on about every dive even outside of the spawning season. In the Keys I mostly see them on the deep wrecks, not so much the shallow reefs.
